If you have come across a lost pet, or if you have observed someone being abusive towards their parrots, you may be in a situation where you don’t know exactly what to do
In all such cases, I suggest you contact your local bird rescue centers or shelters for guidance.
These rescue centers do provide protection to homeless, orphaned, or abused animals.
They also sell pets which you can adopt at a reasonable price from these rescue centers
Normally, animal rescue centers limit their services for certain kinds of animals living within a single region, typically for abused cats and dogs.
Otherwise, exclusive shelters are built only for raptors.
I have been writing a series on rescue homes for parrots.
This way, I can easily narrow down bird shelters that are working within certain regions and support exotic pet birds.
This article will explore parrot rescue options based in Indiana

Parrot Rescue Indiana
A Place to Call Home Parrot Rescue & Adoption
A Place to Call Home Parrot Rescue and Adoptions’ purpose is to offer companion parrots with long- and short-term care by giving them the right food, shelter, exercise, medical attention, training, rehabilitation, and stimuli to produce healthy, contented pets.
They are committed to placing all of their birds in devoted, permanent homes as often as possible.
A Place to Call Home, which was established in 2005 by Sandi Madsen and is now led by Chris South, is dedicated to offering educational materials and programs to bird owners, volunteers, and the general public.
The organization does this in the hope that by educating people about the care and ownership of companion birds, they will be able to improve the lives of these birds everywhere.

Heartland Small Animal Rescue Inc.
Heartland Little Animal Rescue was first established with the goal of rescuing small pocket pets from shelters, including rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small & fluffy creatures, and placing them in loving homes through their established adoption program.
Cats were added to the rescue a few years later, and dogs were added to it once again in 2010.
Since that time, the rescue has expanded substantially as they continue to save pets from our neighborhood shelters and other high-capacity shelters around the Midwest.
They also accept pets from owners who are unable to care for them when there is room.
They recently underwent yet another expansion, and now the rescue is accepting reptiles and birds.
