Can Budgies Eat Cucumber?

Yes budgies can eat cucumbers

They can eat the cucumber flesh and skin no problem

It’s actually healthy and budgies do enjoy them

You can offer it to your budgie as an occasional treat

Cucumbers contain a lot of vitamins that will keep your little birdie healthy which is of course very important

When you offer cucumber to your budgie make sure to wash it thoroughly, peel the cucumbers, remove the seeds

If it’s your first time to give your budgie cucumbers then offer it slowly as some budgies hate change!

Can Budgies Eat Mealworms? 

Budgies can eat mealworms and enjoy it too

They are not toxic nor is it harmful for your budgie

Though you should offer it as a treat and not something as their main diet

Why?

Because mealworms contain fat which is high to not ignore as budgies are prone to obesity and diabetes

Can Budgies Eat Watermelon? 

Who doesn’t love watermelons!

Especially on a hot summer day

My word, I love watermelons

Especially when they are red and juicy

Budgies can eat watermelons too and I’m sure they would enjoy it

You see, watermelons consist of mainly water

So it’s a great way of keeping your budgie hydrated

If your budgie doesn’t drink too much water then watermelons is a good way of keeping them hydrated

Can Budgies Eat Parsley? 

Parsley has a high source of iron, beta carotene and vitamin B1, B2 and C

Parsley also contains amino acids that helps build protein

So as you can see, it’s very healthy

More importantly it’s something you can give to your budgie to eat

You should remember though, Parsley should not be the main diet for your bird

It’s best to give it occasionally

Yes!

Budgies can eat sunflower seeds

Budgies can open sunflower seeds though you most store bought are already hulled so it’s easy for budgies to consume

Budgies can eat mushrooms

But the ones that us humans eat

You see mushrooms are part of the fungi kingdom

This means some mushrooms you’ll find are nutritious and safe for humans or animals to eat

Other mushrooms can kill you instantly

So it’s not worth risking allowing your budgie to munch on some mushrooms

It’s best to avoid it

Can Budgies Eat Tomatoes?

Budgies can eat tomatoes

It’s safe for them to do so

But you need to be careful how much tomato you allow your little bird to eat

They are not toxic for budgies but they are acidic fruit

Birds may be hypersensitive to the acid found in tomatoes

Although tomatoes do have some good health benefits

It’s best you keep your budgies away from them

Can Budgies Eat Bananas?

Budgies love eating bananas and they sure would enjoy it too!

It’s healthy for them to snack on

But it’s not something you should be offering to give all day

A great occasional treat

Did you know bananas have some really great health benefits that will definitely help keep your budgie healthy

  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin B6
  • Potassium

These are all really great health benefits

Also, budgies can eat banana peels too

Can Budgies Eat Bread? 

Yes budgies can eat bread

But here’s the thing

Should you give it to your budgie? Just because they can eat it does mean you should give it

And that goes for bread

Why?

Because bread is filling and it holds no nutritional value and it’s not easy to digest

This can cause some health issues after some time

If you do however want to feed your budgie bread then it should be very little and rare but I would advise to not give any

Can Budgies Eat Walnuts?

Nuts are actually very good for budgies

There are a variety of nuts you can offer your little birdie and one of them is walnuts

Budgies can eat walnuts but you have to be aware that walnuts have a slightly high fat content

They are healthy for budgies but you should be careful about how often you feed it to them

Can Budgies Eat Yogurt? 

Budgies can eat yogurt

But the thing is, they have no health benefit to budgies

Rather giving too much can cause them an upset stomach and I’m sure that’s not what you’d want to give to your cute little bird

It’s best you avoid feeding it to your budgie

If your budgie does seem to enjoy it, don’t eat it in front of your bird!

Hide away and eat (A bit like me when I hide from my kids to snack on a chocolate! Lol!)

Can Budgies Eat Ice Cream? 

They can eat it but you should not give it to them

Why?

Because they can’t handle lactose and that’s what ice cream has

Although it’s safe to give a very small amount

It would be better to avoid giving it altogether

Now I know you might have the urge because you’re enjoying a nice ice cream on a hot summers day and want to share it with your budgie

If you want to do this, stick to only vanilla flavor

And only a lick nothing more

As long as they are of high quality and well stored

No budgies don’t eat cheese and it’s not a good idea to give it to them

Why?

Because cheese contains lactose and birds cannot digest this

This is because they lack lactase enzymes in their guts

Another thing is, cheese contains lots of fat which means if a budgie has a habit of eating cheese you feed it to your budgie often it can cause obesity which can lead to other diseases
